Asus Rampage III Black Edition Review (1)

Asus Rampage III Black Edition
MotherBoards

Hello... Because of there is nothing new in hardware market during this period. For the future, which at this time if that what many people waiting for is the new cpu from the AMD.That released for sale in the middle of this year. Today it is the story of X58 motherboards family. With a Hi-end series that new chipset can be replacement at all.

Package & Bundled

RAMPAGE III Black Edition. Although this board itself is still series of ROG, but the package that the ASUS made has changed. From the beginning we must be familiar that the ROG will come with a dark red. But this time with the Black Edition it is black, and the addition of a pci-express slot for the Thunder bolt card.

Board Details

The layout of the Rampage III black edition doesn’t look different for it’s senior (Rampage III Extreme).Including the size of the PCB also equal (the standard of ATX which can be used in the normal Pc Case). The cooling is also a round in red patch. But chose to use color in a dark tone to not lose too unique concept in the BLACK EDITION sure enough.

There is intel X58 chipset on this board which mean it have to be used with CPU under LGA 1366 Platform(Core i7 900 series include XEON series ). CPU will have 8-phase power supply without a share for the QPI/DRAM.Because ASUS has designed separate. The power unit for QPI / DRAM, it has a 3-phase with each other.

There  are a little change for the memory slots. Of Course it is a Triple-Channel slot(6 slots). Which work under LGA 1366 platform.  Only change is the color and the capacity of the memory that increase from 24 Gb to 48 Gb. Memory’s bus speed capacity  is DDR3 2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066MHz.

Take a closer look to the chipset cooling. It is nothing look like it’s senior (Asus rampage Extreme). But it look similar to MAXIMUS IV EXTREME P67 series.
If asked about the beauty of it. Well you would have to decide that you like it or do not like.

Expansion slots
1. 4 Pci-e x16 Slots for 4 Graphic cards (3 ways SLI or 4 ways Crosshair or 2 ways SLI or 2 ways Crosshair)
2. 2 Pci-e x 1 Slots
3. 8 SATA ports (First 6 is SATA 2.0(3Gbps) another 2 is SATA 3.0(6Gbps)).

There is a little change on the Back I/O Panel. There are a Bluetooth device and a WiFi-Card.
